Akihiko was bored. Mind-numbingly, soul-crushingly bored. His carefully maintained training schedule was completely shot, and for someone who hadn't ever scheduled a lot of free time for himself, suddenly having so much of it on his hands was almost bewildering.

Akihiko grumbles a little as he moves over to his bed. It's true that the painkillers he's taking end up making him feel pretty groggy, but sleeping so much makes him feel sluggish, slow. Akihiko walked silently through the streets, carefully avoiding the red splashed across the pavement. He was still in the part of the city that he thinks of as "safe", so he was okay with letting his mind just empty out as he moved past empty storefronts - especially as he moved past those. Akihiko actually left the dorm about fifteen minutes before the Dark Hour started. That way, he'd be gone in case Mitsuru suddenly had second thoughts about his injury. He was fine, really he was, and now he'd be able to prove it.

It's probably disgustingly predictable that Akihiko is a morning person. After all, after a long day (or long night), he felt it was nice to wake up with a fresh start.
